Eric Tabales

The first exhibition of “Mitos y dioses” back in 2004, offered the viewing public a selection of thirty five paintings, all based on different aspects of the gods of the Olympic and Greek mythology. The current exhibition is the second chapter of the artist’s lifetime project, whose preparations commenced twenty years ago. In this second version, “Punto medio: mitos y dioses”, the artist Eric Tabales presents forty pieces inspired by helenistic mythology.
This lifetime project shall later continue with a third chapter consisting of twenty five additional works of art, completing the one hundred paintings of myths and gods, and which shall encompass his lifetime trajectory. Each chapter highlights the author’s own motivational qualities. The current second chapter explores the heroic aspects of the gods.

This is an opportune moment to observe the epic scope in this collection of paintings. The forty art works included in this chapter are directly inspired by the human figure and capture the anthropomorphic magnitude of its protagonists. For the artist, this sample also symbolizes a tribute to the heroism of its people. With “Punto medio: mitos y dioses”, Eric Tabales registers a testament of small virtues which exemplifies the greatness of all human beings.
